National Merit College Sponsored Scholarships
Georgia Tech has withdrawn as a sponsor of new National Merit College Sponsored Scholarships beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year.
National Merit College Sponsored Scholars currently receiving this award will continue to do so for their full four years of eligibility. These scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per academic year, depending upon the student’s financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The $500 level of funding is provided to those students who do not demonstrate need or who do not complete the FAFSA. Higher levels, up to $2000 per year, require a FAFSA and demonstrated financial need.
National Achievement and National Merit Corporate Scholars
Some National Merit scholarships are jointly funded by the College Board and corporate supporters. If a student chooses Georgia Tech as their first choice with National Merit and are a corporate sponsored or one time National merit/Achievement winner, they will receive funds from either a corporation or National Merit. Amounts and recipients for these programs are determined through a process administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Georgia Tech will not make a funding match, but the applicant could receive Georgia Tech Grants and Scholarships administered by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid if the student meets the priority deadline date and demonstrates financial need.
