1. Verification - Requirements can be viewed in Buzzport. Select "Requirements" from the Financial Aid box.

• Verifying Application Data
  A number of applicants will be selected for a review process termed "verification." This process requires applicants to provide documentation such as federal tax forms to the OSFA. The office will compare the data provided on the original application with the documentation and make any changes necessary. Awards are not final and will not be disbursed until this process is complete. If you are selected for verification, you will need to provide requested information via BuzzPort. http://www.finaid.gatech.edu/qa/

2. Report Outside Scholarships/Resources

Students who receive any assistance not already included in the financial aid award letter must report the amount and type of assistance to the OSFA. This is required by federal law and Institute policy. This assistance may be in the form of additional financial awards such as scholarships, private loans, etc., or in the form of reduced financial obligations to the Institute, including nonresident fee waivers, reduced housing costs, Veteran's Benefits, ROTC, etc. The Institute encourages students to compete for externally sponsored scholarships. Students who receive additional financial assistance will receive a revised award notice and may have the original Georgia Tech awards reduced and/or cancelled. Award adjustments will always be made in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines; however, every attempt will be made to cancel/reduce self-help awards (employment and loans) before any adjustment is made to Georgia Tech institutional funds.
